						Mike helped me with purchasing and importing my first JDM car (JZX100 Chaser). Throughout the entire process, Mike was extremely professional and I really appreciated his availability to answering all my questions/requests. Despite the numerous amount of questions I had (I am an extremely anxious person), responses from JCD were always concise and carried a very professional tone which I particularly appreciated and I think is very representative of working with a Japanese vs US-based company for importing. Initially, I was split between using JCD versus a US-based importer (like The Import Guys). But after considering the material difference in pricing, especially given the JPY FX rate, I thought I'd go with JCD given they are based in Japan and I figured paperwork and communication between them and other local entities in Japan would be easier. Sure enough, no regrets! Everything went extremely smoothly after winning my bid, I was essentially hands off when it came to getting the car out of Japan. The only clarification I'd provide to other potential customers is just recognizing that JCD provides all services up until the car is on the boat, then its on you to coordinate with a customs broker and shipping company to have the car clear US customs and get released. All in all, JCD really handled all the paperwork needed and I couldn't have imagined a more simple importing process. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

						I used Japancardirect.com and Mathew to search for, buy, and import a mini truck, Suzuki Carry, to Florida from Japan. They made the process easy and seamless and Mathew answered every question I had.....and there were a bunch. They assisted in checking out the vehicle with a mechanic, sending me pictures, sending me a report on the vehicle, bidding, putting new tires on once I purchased, shipping and mailing all needed paperwork. 						I'd been looking to buy an RF series Honda Stepwagon to convert into a mini camper for a while but the UK prices always seemed too high. I had joined a few JDM import sites to get an idea of auction prices and costs (including Japan Car Direct) but just couldn't bring myself to take the next step, it seemed such a risk ! Finally after reading so many good reviews for JCD (and Mathew in particular) I took the plunge and contacted Mathew. After he answered my many questions regarding costs, fees etc I felt confident enough to pay the deposit and start hunting the Japanese auctions for my Steppy. My budget for the Steppy was pretty low (pathetic even !) but I felt Mat still put the same effort into replying to my questions and queries as he would have done if my budget had been into the tens of thousands. The result was I now have a very tidy Stepwagon with lower mileage than any vehicle I've ever owned, I've paid far less for it then I would have done buying in the UK and I've got a bigger budget now for the camper conversion. I wouldn't hesitate to buy through them again, and hope to do so soon.

						Ever since my first trip to Japan in 2016, I have wanted a kei vehicle. I was finally in a position to get one this year, but I didn't know where to start. After doing a lot of research and talking to a few folks who had done it before, I decided to use Japan Car Direct. The primary reason I chose JCD was that I kept hearing them described as "helpful" and "trustworthy". I think these two qualities are important, but particularly for a first time importer like myself. After all, I was going to be sending thousands of dollars halfway across the world for a vehicle I'd never seen, so I wanted someone I could trust and who would help me through the process. Yoshiro absolutely delivered on both counts for Japan Car Direct. From the first e-mail he was very responsive, took time to answer all my questions, and helped guide me to the right truck. The JCD team is great and I can't recommend them enough. I'm sure I will be doing business with them again when I'm ready for my next Japanese car! As for the vehicle, I snagged a very clean 1994 Acty SDX that showed up in even better condition than I expected. I just picked it up from the port the other day, I'll update with photos once I get it cleaned up!

						Patient, professional, prompt, helpful and honest. My experience dealing with Matthew from JCD was nothing but positive. Matthew took the time to explain to me over various emails how to go through the entire process. He replied very promptly and honestly and we even had nice friendly chats along the way. I imagine like many others like I was will eventually be in the position of "shit I actually won that car!" and you have to transfer lots of money to a man in Japan. I felt quite a bit of trepidation at that moment, I can assure you there is nothing to worry about. Communication was completely clear all along the way, car logs, shipping information. The car arrived exactly as described. Perfect running condition, 4.5b feels the correct assessment and I am very happy! I will also add that if you are importing to the Netherlands for the 1st time, I have suggested to Matthew that I can provide information on to the finer details as to what needs to be done and the cost EU side. My only other advice for the auctions is to be patient and stick to your budget and you will be happy! Thank you Matthew and the JCD team

						The entire team at Japan Car Direct looked after everything for me. From buying my target car at auction to selling my current car at auction with delivery, paperwork and admin in between sales all included. I live in Japan so this is a review of the process from within the country (not for export). Having said this, the high quality of car and service received won't be different no matter where you are buying from. At first Matt educated me on Land Cruisers as that was my target car. This was very helpful. Next he helped me select a car. Our primary communication was done via social media (we mostly used Whatsapp but also were connected via Facebook Messenger and LINE). We looked at a fair amount of cars. Matt would send me a list almost daily of upcoming cars. He was especially patient with me as I was rather pedantic about everything and asked many questions. Matt always responded within an hour. It is also worth noting that even though my Japanese language ability is advanced, it was comforting having Matt's Japanese language fluency on hand when questions needed to be relayed on my behalf. It made our communication much more efficient. Within a couple of weeks we eventually found a car that fit my target but actually missed out on the auction, not because we were outbid (although there were other bidders) but because the seller had a fixed (minimum) price set. After the auction Matt relayed the fixed price the seller wanted. I waited a few days to think about it then asked if the car was still available, and it was. At this point Matt offered to hire a private inspector/specialist to check the car on site on my behalf. This was 3000yen well spent as the inspector gave a thorough check of the car. I recommend anyone considering buying a car via auction to have an expert check it out first. It was tremendously valuable and reassuring. At this point, all that was left to do was agree to buy the car and send the money. All the paperwork and delivery of the car (directly to my home!) was organized by Matt and the Japan Car Direct team. It was a very easy process. To top it off, Matt and the Japan Car Direct team went above and beyond by agreeing to help me sell my old car. They arranged to have it picked up from my home on the day my new car arrived, and took it to auction to sell it on my behalf. My car sold on the first auction day for much more than I was hoping for. Once again, all of the paperwork, delivery of the car etc was taken care of by Matt and the team. I have bought cars and motorcycles in Japan via auction in the past. While the product I buy has always been good, the service not always so. The entire process can be a nerve wracking experience, not only because of fear of buying a bad car but because of all the paperwork and bureaucracy involved. Japan Car Direct took the stress out of buying at auction and made it a friendly, fun experience. The service was prompt and professional - always. I love the car I purchased but since the process was so easy I will certainly be back for more in the future. Japan Cars Direct is THE way to go for buying cars at auction in Japan. I can’t recommend them enough. I was initially introduced to Matthew Matusiak of Japan Car Direct via a mutual acquaintance for the purpose of buying a car, however, I am pleased to now call Matt my friend and look forward to continued hockey chatter throughout the year.

						A few months ago I set out on my goal of importing a vehicle from Japan through an auction. After tons and TONs of research and countless emails, I decided to use Japan Car Direct as my exporter in Japan. From the beginning of my interactions with JCD, I was thoroughly impressed. My contact, Yoshi, was amazing...definitely a huge asset to the JCD team. He answered all of my questions promptly, translated dozens of auction sheets for me, and advised me of what to watch out for when looking for a vehicle. He was beyond helpful! Not only did I find the right vehicle using thier platform, they then helped with procuring upgraded wheels off the Yahoo Japan auction site, sourced some additional spare parts not readily available in Australia and organized for a preshipment service. Everything went smoothly and without a hitch. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of importing a vehicle from Japan should consider the service that they offer it is Blue Ribbon.

						I was considering importing a vehicle into Canada from Japan for a while and explored a few different companies but ultimately ended up going with JCD because of their exemplary customer service and I was not disappointed with my decision. I sent JCD about 100 emails (no lie, I wanted to be absolutely sure about the process and everything and they answered most of them prior to me committing to buy a car through them) and they responded to every single one of my questions. The purchasing process was easy and I ended up getting a nice little Mercedes for the summer. Even after JCD had finished their business with me and I was working with an importer they recommended (who was also a pleasure to work with) and I had a couple of outstanding questions they again answered me promptly, honestly and, most importantly, knowledgeably. These guys bid in the auction for you and have a mechanic inspect the car (optional for a small fee) so you know exactly what you're getting. The car I got was exactly as described to me, no surprises and had it on the road almost immediately. If you check out a lot of the other japanese exporters who have selection of cars to choose from and check the auction sheets which are often posted it's easy to see that they are trying to sell crappy cars (typically they are rated R for repaired). I cannot recommend JCD enough and I think I'll probably get my next 'daily driver' through them as well. The process was easy, they were knowledgeable and, most importantly, I got a great deal on a car.

I had always wanted to own an R34 GTR it had been a dream car for me to own ever since I at school. 						My experience was so incredible working with Japan Car Direct. It almost didn't feel real, I followed their instructions provided and was in browsing the auction database in no time at all. When I was ready I sent an email and Yoshiro worked with me almost every step of the way. I purchased my car in August and received it in early January due to several holidays over the time and a minor delay with the vehicle (ECM had a leaky capacitor, a shop repaired it and it's been good as new). I 100% suggest these guys any time someone asks about obtaining a vintage JDM car because the service is amazing and as long as you're smart about what you're buying (know how to read the auction repair sheets etc.) the cars are exactly if not better than expected. 						Awesome experience working with the guys at Japan Car Direct, I was looking to find a specific spec J90 Land Cruiser Prado (2 door, black, low milage) and managed to locate one at a used car dealer in Japan. Mason helped every step of the way to coordinate with the dealer, make the deal, transport the car to the port, coordinate with the port staff to store the Prado till it turned 25 years on the month (had to sit at the port a couple months), and then finally have the Prado cleaned before it was loaded on the boat. Lots of pictures always accompanied updates and any questions I had were answered with no problems. Everything was super easy and zero stress. Definitely will be using these guys again in the future!

						This is my second vehicle that Mike at Japan Car Direct has helped me import to the U.S. and the third I have been involved with. Impeccable service and if you do your homework and get the inspections on the vehicles you are interested in, you can get some great deals in Japan. 						I hunted the internet for a broker I could trust with my money. JDC won and I am so happy I went with them. Matt and Yoshi are great. Matt puts up with a very demanding customer in me, I can certainly take up time. Matt sends me cars from the list I sent him, when I don't have time to check the auction. It is scary how accurate Matt is when I ask him to predict a selling price. He is always very close which sometimes is not fun but he really does know pricing. They have walked we through buying two cars now and have held my hand on both. I really apricate all the time and knowledge. After purchase they have also held my hand through the whole import process which can be daunting for a first timer. I am a dealer and Matt is great at suggesting other cars to import as well. I am very satisfied with my choice

						I used Japan Car Direct to bid and win a Daihatsu HiJet Cargo. Mason was my point of contact and was brilliant in guiding me through the process, detailing how to make the initial deposit to allow bidding, detailing the auction costs and shipping costs, so that I could work out a budget. The platform for searching vehicles that are coming to auction was easy to use, and Mason was very helpful in explaining all the vehicle description codes and provided a really useful review for individual vehicles that I short listed, and then arranged for the vehicle to be independently inspected prior to bidding. Payment on my winning vehicle was straight forward by BACs to Japan Car Direct and then Mason took care of arranging shipping, and sending through the bill of lading and other documents. Once the vehicle arrived at the JCD yard I received very comprehensive photos. Shipping took about 7 weeks from Japan to Newcastle in the UK, and the vehicle arrived safely in perfect condition. I used RJJ Freight for customs clearance, which made the process of getting the vehicle into the UK stress free.
