A couple update pics on the van. The family is completely in love with this thing. I put a 2″ lift and some all-terrain tires and it handles very respectably off road. We went camping again last weekend in the desert and it was one of our favorite trips ever.

						I was introduced to Japan Car Direct (JCD) through a friend that imported his own Kei truck. Prior to me reaching out to JCD, I researched many other online buyers of JDM cars for many years and came away very disappointed for various reasons: their buyer's fee or fees were ridiculously high; the price of their cars were ridiculously high; they seemed ambivalent about my needs; their English was not strong; the selection of their cars were very limited and/or their stock was full of cars that had been there for months, if not years. Most importantly, I had no confidence they were acting on my behalf. JCD was completely different. Since July of 2016, I have purchased 8 vehicles from JCD. They guided me and advised me as to which cars were solid, roadworthy, and mechanically sound. There were cars that I really really wanted and they advised me numerous times to pass on them because of their condition and I know they were right. 						After doing a bit of research I settled on using JCD to bid at the Japanese auctions for me and to facilitate the import of my dream car into Australia. Whenever I saw a car of interest, Mason would normally reply within an hour with a short video translating the Japanese auction sheet and additional info he had. They also organised additional inspections and photos at your request before you bid. Once I placed a winning bid, they used a partner shipping company (Dolphin shipping) and transferred all the info to them. From there the shipping company had a few extra questions and shipped my car and sent me an invoice for their services just before the car landed in AUS. These guys are very accessible, friendly and do a great job. Highly recommend. Thanks Mason for a job well done!

						Since a kid the FD RX7 has always been a dream car but i didn't pursue it till i graduated high school but the prices just for the shell over here in california was over 15k!! I kept looking around until I decided i would just import one. I found JCD while looking for the top 5 importers you could trust and they stood out more than all the other ones, and for a couple months of more research on their page until I ultimately decided I would go through them. Although this was my first time getting a car from Japan and having an endless amount questions spanning a couple hundred emails until it would freeze up and i had to make a new email thread .. Mathew always answered every question and helped me though every step. I didn't have all the funds in the beginning but they were very patient with it until i was fully ready, then after a month of having Matt give his thought on some of the FDs i was looking at we finally won the auction for a 94 Efini type R Fd3s. As we picked it up from Long Beach till the drive home I couldn't believe that it was here and soo much better just looking at the picture but i defiantly would recommend JCD to anyone looking to import their dream car too and and want to thank matt and the whole team with getting me my RX7.

Mason has been patient, responsive, and friendly as to put other importing companies to shame. 						I have never dealt with a better company. These guys are outstanding and really know the business of exporting vehicles. I imported a car to Ireland and it was a joyous experience with JCD. Mike was so patient and responsive to every query and did a super job. Despite me changing my mind a few times and requesting many translations, he never complained. Mathew fought my corner right at the end of the process to make sure everything was right and his knowledge of the Irish system was really impressive given the geographical distances. 						Without the help I got from Mason @ Japan Car Direct, I couldn't have been able to easily import my first JDM to Canada. He was very quick to respond to my emails and was patiently available day in and day out. Mason provided ongoing support to help me select the car I wanted and translated the Japanese description from the auction website. He used to record videos to explain all the available info about the cars I selected and helped me exclude the cars with features I didn't want. Mason also offered his expert advice about the maximum bidding amount but worked hard to get the car with the lowest price possible. He was amazingly dedicated to make sure I got what I wanted and patiently answered all my questions. He then helped me get extra inspections after winning the auction. I had no concern transferring money to buy and bid for the car because I know for sure that Mason and his friends at JCD are trust worthy. If I ever want to import another JDM car, Mason and his friends, Mathew and Scott are the guys that I would do business with.

						A few months ago I set out on my goal of importing a vehicle from Japan through an auction. After tons and TONs of research and countless emails, I decided to use Japan Car Direct as my exporter in Japan. From the beginning of my interactions with JCD, I was thoroughly impressed. My contact, Yoshi, was amazing...definitely a huge asset to the JCD team. He answered all of my questions promptly, translated dozens of auction sheets for me, and advised me of what to watch out for when looking for a vehicle. He was beyond helpful! I picked up my Kei truck at the port in Newport News a few weeks ago and couldn't be more pleased. Since then, the truck has made it to its final home in Charlottesville, VA on my farm. Yoshi and the other guys at JCD are now my go to team for more of these soon. Thanks again JCD and keep doing what you guys do! You all are the real deal. 						I cannot recommend scott, matt and the japancardirect team enough for importing vehicles. From initial contact right through until the process of collecting the vehicle from Bristol docks they have guided me step by step to make the entire process as easy as buying a vehicle in the uk. I have now imported 4 vehicles with these guys help including a 6.5 metre Winnebago!!! I would not use anyone else for my importing needs and their friendly helpful manner will make what can seem like a daunting task simple and an easily accessible market for high grade vehicles. It was my first time exporting a vehicle and he walked me through step by step and didn't mind answering all my millions of questions. I probably looked at 100+ different trucks and Taylor was instrumental in helping me make informed decisions on which trucks I should try to bid on and which ones I should probably avoid. I ended up purchasing three mini-trucks, one for myself and two other family members. We love them!!!! Great for working around the farm or yard, hunting, taking to the mountains and cruising the back mountain roads or just a daily commuter as I use mine for. 						Japan Car Direct is so amazing! About 6 months ago I wanted a Kei truck. I looked at purchasing them locally, but they were just too expensive. So, I looked at importing one through a company like JCD to save some money and to look for what I wanted exactly. While I was initially skeptical, after interacting with agents getting access to the auction site, I was so confident in the ability to import the car of my dreams. After months of bothering my agent, Taylor, with constant bids and random questions, I finally won an auction and purchased my truck. While I thought once I had paid the final bill to them that their services were over, I was dead wrong: Taylor was there to support me through the ENTIRE process. JCD worked so hard to make sure my truck was just how I wanted it, delivered as fast as possible, and affordable. While it was scary at first, it was just so easy! I am just now getting my truck registered and road-legal. 						I was daunted by the prospect of purchasing a vehicle overseas. Mathew was right there to offer direction and assurance along the way. The only point that went differently from his anticipation was the duty tax, which inherently has room for interpretation and may depend on the port of delivery. Would I go to Mathew and JCD again? Absolutely! With his help I obtained a suzuki carry with 8k miles, 4wd hi/lo w/ diff lock, in excellent condition, for a total of 5k from auction to driveway--tremendous value in my estimation. 						Just drove my Japanese market 1991 Mercedes 300d to work for first time. Picked up from the dock last week and the car started right up. It runs quiet, is clean and was obviously well taken care of. I checked blowby via oil filter cap, and the compression seems very good for this diesel. Scott made the process of sorting through and deciding on this car easy and enjoyable. He helped steer me away from what might have been some poorer choices (check the auction sheets!) and we finally found the right car. If looking for a quality used car, the Japanese domestic market has superior stock to choose from (the Mercedes I got, like many European cars there is even LHD). Scott is the guy to get you in to that market - very easy to talk to and quick in responding to queries.

I can only imagine that almost every one of his multiple clients are doing the same thing - maybe at the same time! If that is so, I never got the feeling that I was a pest (I probably was). The result for me was a pleasant surprise. Probably due to my location, the car came faster than I imagined. My whole process (winning bid to delivery) took a month and ten days. 						I first stumbled upon Japan Car Direct LLC through their Facebook page and on their website. I plan on writing a full review once my car arrives, but at the current moment I wish I could give them more than a 5/5. First, their website is extremely professional and has all of the information that you could ask for. The coolest part about the entire process is getting access to the auction house by registering with them. You can then see (and get translations) for the cars of your choice! Mathew and Scott providing AMAZING customer service. This being my first time, they answered more than 50 e-mails of my questions, and were always very professional. They did not pressure me to purchase a car either, rather, I gave them my specifications and they worked with me to find the vehicle of my choice. I believe their service charge is more than fair considering they do the bulk of the work for you. No matter what time of day, it seemed like Mat and Scott were there to help! In addition to cars, they can help you find parts, which I will need some for my car! While we did run into some minor issues (like my delaying of payment since they are international, and some [dealer - not Japan Car Direct] translation issues with the dealer we bought the car from), Mat and Scott quickly worked to resolve them. 						Bought a Toyota Hiace with the help of Yoshiro. He was fantastic! I will never buy another vehicle from Japan without using this company. I would encourage anyone to use them. There were several vans I inquired about and Yoshiro said there was too much rust and wasn’t good vehicle. He actually looks out for his customers and isn’t looking for a quick sale.
