						Just awesome people to deal with... I started my search for a JZA80 Supra 2 years ago by just looking on JCD because I was really scared that I would go into it with the money I had, and be overwhelmed by fees and other costs, I even made a spreadsheet with every cost listed on JCD’s website. And it turns out, that feeling I was scared of never came. Mathew at JCD is a gem, he helped me from my viewing days all the way to the end, translating and giving great advice on what the steps are, making everything crystal clear and easily digestible. All of my questions, and misunderstandings were dealt with with kindness and professionalism. Patience is a virtue that JCD (and from my experience Mathew) have in droves. 						I worked with JapanCarDirect to import a 4WD van. It took three months, lots of legwork, a good auction score, and plenty of fees to pay, but I now have a fully legal and awesome van that is in great shape minus a few issues that are to be expected of a 25-year old van. It's super fun to drive, super unique, and I feel like I'm part of the community. I can pass VW vans and chuckle as they look at me driving RHD several inches above their vehicle. However, as my favorite youtuber subject matter expert on these kinds of vans, you have to be somewhat of an auto enthusiast to really enjoy these cars. You can find gold among the lower value vehicles. There's an element of risk buying from auction, but I got all vehicles I was really interested in inspected to give me more confidence completing the contraction, granting that I've never owned two vehicles before. Plus, I knew exactly what I wanted, so I was able to bid with confidence. Having two cars as driving options is super handy!

						A few months ago I set out on my goal of importing a vehicle from Japan through an auction. After tons and TONs of research and countless emails, I decided to use Japan Car Direct as my exporter in Japan. From the beginning of my interactions with JCD, I was thoroughly impressed. My contact, Yoshi, was amazing...definitely a huge asset to the JCD team. He answered all of my questions promptly, translated dozens of auction sheets for me, and advised me of what to watch out for when looking for a vehicle. He was beyond helpful! I picked up my Kei truck at the port in Newport News a few weeks ago and couldn't be more pleased. Since then, the truck has made it to its final home in Charlottesville, VA on my farm. Yoshi and the other guys at JCD are now my go to team for more of these soon. Thanks again JCD and keep doing what you guys do! You all are the real deal. 						Mathew and the fine folks of JCD were pros and I couldn't be happier with my Honda Acty Street. Shipping was easy to follow, they laid out exactly how to go about picking up my van from customs and getting it home was a breeze. Been driving it for a few months now and still purring away. It's scary buying a vehicle sight unseen but they are willing to double check everything before you even put your bid in. The right hand drive is rad and my little baby Racoon gets quite a bit of attention. The only thing to make sure of is check your state laws. Some states are trying to pull Kei trucks and vans off the road. But that is no bearing on JCD. Everything on their end was silky smooth. Would love to buy another couple and have a whole fleet! Even came with original manuals and some artwork from the previous owner's children! Can't put into words how happy I am! JCD rules!

						Just finished successfully importing my first JDM vehicle with the help of Mike and japan car direct and I am really impressed with the help and professionalism. Buying and importing a car is not like walking into a dealer and handing over money. There are a lot of regulations and processes that need to be taken car of and I am glad I chose the experts at JCD to get me through the process. The translations of auction sheets were really helpful and they answered so many questions from me that helped me understand the grade ratings, condition of cars and get exactly what I wanted. 						FIRST TIME BUYER Update first car got here and process was painless, yoshi put me in touch with local importer to make sure all paper work was in order and I would have no issues at pick up, Wich I did not…can not say enough good thing about yoshi and the group at Japan car direct…Also I paid a little extra and had a bunch of service done in Japan where the parts and labor was way cheaper then here in the states…car runs great and I am super satisfied First post: So…. I have just ordered my second car from Yoshiro Nakajima at Japan Car Direct. Keep in mind my first car has only just gotten to the port, I think that alone speaks volumes. So far it has been an awesome and painless experience. I did not go the advised route of auctions. Not because I could not have save a bunch of money but because I have no patience. Not only was Yoshi understanding and responsive to my constant questions, He accommodated nearly all of my requests(some were just crazy I admit). Even so we found a car at a local to Japan used car dealer and he helped me obtain the car, get it fully serviced and delivered to the port. I will update this review once the car is here and I can let you know how smooth the import process was and how my paperwork came. Trust, I have full faith in Yoshi, and Japan Car Direct that this will go painlessly as well. I will do a follow up review so people can get a full review of all process points. One last thing I want to add is that my budget was extremely low and he never made me feel it was not important or a priority for him. He never made me feel like this was a petty or small job. I feel this too speaks volumes about character. Thus far nothing but five stars.

						After doing a bit of research I settled on using JCD to bid at the Japanese auctions for me and to facilitate the import of my dream car into Australia. Whenever I saw a car of interest, Mason would normally reply within an hour with a short video translating the Japanese auction sheet and additional info he had. They also organised additional inspections and photos at your request before you bid. Once I placed a winning bid, they used a partner shipping company (Dolphin shipping) and transferred all the info to them. From there the shipping company had a few extra questions and shipped my car and sent me an invoice for their services just before the car landed in AUS. 						Ever since my first trip to Japan in 2016, I have wanted a kei vehicle. I was finally in a position to get one this year, but I didn't know where to start. After doing a lot of research and talking to a few folks who had done it before, I decided to use Japan Car Direct. The primary reason I chose JCD was that I kept hearing them described as "helpful" and "trustworthy". I think these two qualities are important, but particularly for a first time importer like myself. After all, I was going to be sending thousands of dollars halfway across the world for a vehicle I'd never seen, so I wanted someone I could trust and who would help me through the process. Yoshiro absolutely delivered on both counts for Japan Car Direct. From the first e-mail he was very responsive, took time to answer all my questions, and helped guide me to the right truck. The JCD team is great and I can't recommend them enough. I'm sure I will be doing business with them again when I'm ready for my next Japanese car! As for the vehicle, I snagged a very clean 1994 Acty SDX that showed up in even better condition than I expected. I just picked it up from the port the other day, I'll update with photos once I get it cleaned up!

						The entire team at Japan Car Direct looked after everything for me. From buying my target car at auction to selling my current car at auction with delivery, paperwork and admin in between sales all included. I live in Japan so this is a review of the process from within the country (not for export). Having said this, the high quality of car and service received won't be different no matter where you are buying from. At first Matt educated me on Land Cruisers as that was my target car. This was very helpful. Next he helped me select a car. Our primary communication was done via social media (we mostly used Whatsapp but also were connected via Facebook Messenger and LINE). We looked at a fair amount of cars. Matt would send me a list almost daily of upcoming cars. He was especially patient with me as I was rather pedantic about everything and asked many questions. Matt always responded within an hour. It is also worth noting that even though my Japanese language ability is advanced, it was comforting having Matt's Japanese language fluency on hand when questions needed to be relayed on my behalf. It made our communication much more efficient. Within a couple of weeks we eventually found a car that fit my target but actually missed out on the auction, not because we were outbid (although there were other bidders) but because the seller had a fixed (minimum) price set. After the auction Matt relayed the fixed price the seller wanted. I waited a few days to think about it then asked if the car was still available, and it was. At this point Matt offered to hire a private inspector/specialist to check the car on site on my behalf. This was 3000yen well spent as the inspector gave a thorough check of the car. I recommend anyone considering buying a car via auction to have an expert check it out first. It was tremendously valuable and reassuring. At this point, all that was left to do was agree to buy the car and send the money. All the paperwork and delivery of the car (directly to my home!) was organized by Matt and the Japan Car Direct team. It was a very easy process. To top it off, Matt and the Japan Car Direct team went above and beyond by agreeing to help me sell my old car. They arranged to have it picked up from my home on the day my new car arrived, and took it to auction to sell it on my behalf. My car sold on the first auction day for much more than I was hoping for. Once again, all of the paperwork, delivery of the car etc was taken care of by Matt and the team. I have bought cars and motorcycles in Japan via auction in the past. While the product I buy has always been good, the service not always so. The entire process can be a nerve wracking experience, not only because of fear of buying a bad car but because of all the paperwork and bureaucracy involved. Japan Car Direct took the stress out of buying at auction and made it a friendly, fun experience. The service was prompt and professional - always. I love the car I purchased but since the process was so easy I will certainly be back for more in the future. Japan Cars Direct is THE way to go for buying cars at auction in Japan. I can’t recommend them enough. 						I hunted the internet for a broker I could trust with my money. JDC won and I am so happy I went with them. Matt and Yoshi are great. Matt puts up with a very demanding customer in me, I can certainly take up time. Matt sends me cars from the list I sent him, when I don't have time to check the auction. It is scary how accurate Matt is when I ask him to predict a selling price. He is always very close which sometimes is not fun but he really does know pricing. They have walked we through buying two cars now and have held my hand on both. I really apricate all the time and knowledge. 						It's hard to say anything that hasn't been said from other reviewers! This was my first experience importing a vehicle. Mike Nguyen was super patient with me and my indecisiveness. He was very quick to respond, and very informative on all my questions. He helped my sort through options until landing a 1kz-te Land Cruiser Prado. It ended up being in better condition than I was anticipating, and was able to drive it 5 hours home from port without a single issue. Cannot recommend Japan Car Direct enough!

						Working with JCD, specifically Yoshiro, has been a thoroughly pleasant experience from start to finish. They were able to answer all my myriad of ever expanding questions regarding not only the purchase process but intermediate shipping, receiving. Once I had decided on the vehicle itself they were quite helpful with specific details pertaining to the particular model I was after, spotting problems and subtle differences in options which I likely would have overlooked being new to the process and vehicles. The one hang-up with shipping which occurred was handled quickly, professionally and fairly leaving me feeling very confident in using this company again for my next importation. All told putting my trust and money in someone half way around the world and then hoping I would actually receive what was agreed upon was daunting to say the least. 						I asked Japan Car Direct to sell my old Rav4J just before I left Japan in September. Got almost $2,000 total for it, which was amazing. In Japan, there is ZERO resale value for cars. In fact, when I "sold" my old Eunos Roadster (Miyata) to a resale place, the said they were being generous giving me $50 for it. So actually getting a VERY fair price for my old car from JCD definitely put a smile on my face. So thanks for that, guys!

From the first conversation with Mike Nguyen I knew I had found the right person and company to help me bring a car to the UK. If you are reading this and have any concern about buying from Japan don’t, they are definitely the partner you want. Mike was helpful beyond fault with the many video reports he sent, each as cheerful and informative the last, he patiently and politely answered every email instantly and question I had along with my concern about sending money. I need not have worried. JDC seamlessly handled everything including at the UK end by hooking me up with an import company who charged a fair price for off loading the car and getting it through customs and it was there ready at the agreed pick up time. I cannot convey how impressed I was with everyone and am just about to buy another car as I love the car and the service. There is a reason they have so many 5 star reviews. 						I purchased a JDM 2008 Toyota Prius through Japan Car Direct last year. The export agent, Mason, was easy to work with and made the process predictable and straight forward, so there were no surprises or hidden costs with the car itself and with logistics. The logistics supplier that Mason referred to in Vancouver to import the car into Canada was also very helpful and made the process stress free. Mason went above and beyond just facilitating the transaction and sourced new tires, rims, and accessories for the car that the car needed or that didn't come with the car. This was a big help as these parts and accessories for a 2008 Prius were either unavailable in Canada or would have cost an arm and a leg to purchase through a dealership. I was amazed at how good condition the car was in when it arrived. I picked it up in Vancouver and, right off the boat, drove it over 4000km straight to Ontario to get it home without any mechanical issues along the way.

						I used Japan Car Direct to import my R34 Nissan Skyline, I found Scott and his team extremly helpful though out the entire process from the get go... I had always wanted to own an R34 GTR it had been a dream car for me to own ever since I at school. I had always toyed with the idea of Importing a vehicle myself but was always dubious about the process... many companies didn't really want to help or we plain how the process works which wasn't very comforting... until i made contact with Scott @ JCD... He was happy to answer all my questions and querys with swift honest answers.. . And made the whole process extremly hassle free and no put my mind at rest of any worries I had. 						Just drove my Japanese market 1991 Mercedes 300d to work for first time. Picked up from the dock last week and the car started right up. It runs quiet, is clean and was obviously well taken care of. I checked blowby via oil filter cap, and the compression seems very good for this diesel. Scott made the process of sorting through and deciding on this car easy and enjoyable. He helped steer me away from what might have been some poorer choices (check the auction sheets!) and we finally found the right car. If looking for a quality used car, the Japanese domestic market has superior stock to choose from (the Mercedes I got, like many European cars there is even LHD). Scott is the guy to get you in to that market - very easy to talk to and quick in responding to queries.

						I was considering importing a vehicle into Canada from Japan for a while and explored a few different companies but ultimately ended up going with JCD because of their exemplary customer service and I was not disappointed with my decision. I sent JCD about 100 emails (no lie, I wanted to be absolutely sure about the process and everything and they answered most of them prior to me committing to buy a car through them) and they responded to every single one of my questions. The purchasing process was easy and I ended up getting a nice little Mercedes for the summer. Even after JCD had finished their business with me and I was working with an importer they recommended (who was also a pleasure to work with) and I had a couple of outstanding questions they again answered me promptly, honestly and, most importantly, knowledgeably. These guys bid in the auction for you and have a mechanic inspect the car (optional for a small fee) so you know exactly what you're getting. The car I got was exactly as described to me, no surprises and had it on the road almost immediately. If you check out a lot of the other japanese exporters who have selection of cars to choose from and check the auction sheets which are often posted it's easy to see that they are trying to sell crappy cars (typically they are rated R for repaired). I cannot recommend JCD enough and I think I'll probably get my next 'daily driver' through them as well. The process was easy, they were knowledgeable and, most importantly, I got a great deal on a car.

Their services are exactly what you'd hope for - they help you find the right vehicle at the right price, and they help you get it on its way to a port near you. Mike's guidance around the timing and paperwork ends was really great. We picked up our Mitsubishi Minicab in Freeport, TX and got it home over the weekend (on schedule). It's a little dirty in this picture, but cleaned up nicely with a bath. Big thanks to Mike and the JCD team for helping us make this happen.
